DOG'S WISHES

Before you decide to take me away from these kind people, my friends, mum, brothers and sisters, please think hard if you're sure that we belong together:

1. My life lasts only for five, ten, fifteen years. Every farewell from you is a pain for me. Please, think through before you adopt me.

2. Give me enough time to understand what you want from me.

3. Trust me - that is what I live for.

4. Don't be angry with me and lock me up. You have a work of your own, your friends and your parties, but I have only you.

5. Please, talk to me from time to time, even though I do not speak your language. But I do know your voice and that should sometimes belong only to me.

6. Whatever you treat me like, good or bad I never forget it.

7. Before you hit me, think about how I could easily grab your hand and crush it with my teeth, but I will never do that to you.

8. Before you scold me for being a bad, lazy, and a stubborn dog, think again, because, perhaps, I am only being lonely or hungry or thirsty. I might have indigestion or I may have been too long in the sun. Perhaps, I got out of bed on the wrong side or I am being ill or feeling under the weather.

9. Take care of me even when you get old one day.

10. Accompany me on my last journey. Don't say: "Oh, I can't watch this..." or "I want it to happen when I am not around". You know, everything is easier when you're around, because we're friends and we've been through a lot together. I have often put you in a good mood, but please, forgive me for the bad moments as I did and will forgive you.
